All UK registered vehicles carry a Tyre
inflation guide plate (usually inside the
drivers door) This will tell you the correct
pressure to keep your tyres in good condition
and achieve optimum performance from them.
WARNING - If you change the wheels / tyres for
larger or different profiles, the pressures
required may differ from the standard. |
The legal
minimum tyre tread depth in the UK is 1.6mm.
This must cover the central 3 quarters of the
tyre width and around the entire circumference.
This can be checked quickly using a guide. Due to the
increased stopping distances on wet roads with
worn tyres, we would recommend your tyres are
changed when they reach 3mm of remaining tread. |
Your tyre pressures should ideally be checked
when the tyre is cold. Tyre pressure are best
checked used a stand-alone pressure gauge as
apposed to a gauge built into a garage type pump
which can be unreliable. We offer a FREE tyre
check, and are more than happy to check your
tyre pressures. |
A quick look down
both sides of your vehicle every morning could
save you money and reduce the risk of a serious
accident and / or points on your licence? AMR
advise that you check your tyre pressures every
week and every time you have a significant
change in the loading of your vehicle such as
towing a caravan. |
